My Gator to RTV conversion project.

I was "gifted" a Peg-Perego Gator by a friend... of course there is no way I can have this around my house. So a few rattle cans later... we have an RTV!






as luck would have it, we made about 4 laps around the house and the right hand gear box stripped the plastic gears trying to climb a slight hill. I guess I did not get all the Deere out of it.

Either that or you just made it a Kubota!

Maybe all that orange paint was too much weight? Not all other brands are as much of a workhorse as the Kubota. :laughing:

You didn't get all the yellow out and you can buy another drive motor. While all the " toys'' around here are Kubota we do have a Gator for the kids. One problem was the poor traction on the rear wheels. To overcome or help this I bought a couple bicycle tires with an agressive tread and cut them so they laid flat and then cut off the rib with a razor knife . They now have a bit of stretch to them and I pop riveted them around the plastic wheels. Once you get started with the end riveted in place you can pull it tight on the wheel and rivet it as you go around the wheel.

Call peg perego, the gearboxes aren't that expensive. I was gifted on several years ago with the same problem. Seems its from having older/heavier kids using it.

Dont hold my feet to the fire, but peg has sent me new ones no charge, just called and they mailed them. YMMV

That may have been the case for me too... it was something like 7 or 8 years ago.....
