Cool, I mean warm install. That heater will have you nice and toasty. Good luck with the install!
Thanks Jbird, it's my first heater install so hoping I won't regret not spending the money for a professional install. I got two quotes from local HVAC guys that quoted me the same unit including install, one just under $7000 and the other just over! My cost is about $2K. Neither includes the propane tank but that cost is fixed regardless. Being a DIY kind of guy, there was no way I was gonna pay $5K for a day of their work. It's been a bit of a struggle since it is the first time for me but not too bad because I had all the tools I needed. Happy so far... stay tuned.Cool, I mean warm install. Main tank is a long ways away and hard surfaces. It was doable but quite a bit more expensive.Curious why you didnt tap the house tank instead ?
Good to hear... I will be blowing in lots of insulation in the rafters as there is zero insulation now. Might try to access the walls from the outside at some point to fill in between the joists. Whole thing is sheet rocked.I think you will be happy with that set up. I have a 125000 BTU Hot Dawg heater in a 36' X52' building. I have a 250 gal LP tank also and only have to fill it once during the winter. I leave the thermostat set on 46 degrees unless I am working in it. I did insulate with the same specs as if it was a house, 6" walls and 18" ceiling. Enjoy your heated work shop.
Interesting thread. I'm really shocked at how much profit the HVAC companies wanted to make off of your install.
