Kubota GL3560, Kubota GL4060
Hurricane Michael hit us head on at Cat 4 strength and left us with nearly 10 acres of trees down. After the shock wore off, hubby (known on this board as PSDStu ) gave me a Kubota B2601, Front End Loader, WR Long Grapple and a chainsaw. We have a family fleet of Kubota's but this is the first tractor that was MINE. :) I have a Kubota RTV 500 which I adore.

I grew up on a 9N Ford disking and such so the front end equipment is brand new to me. Hubby is a great teacher tho and I am getting a LOT of practice.

Anyway, I am in love with my very early Christmas gifts....... inspired by need from Michael.

Here is a video of me cleaning up debris with the Kubota and the Grapple.

And here is a video of the back 3 acres that we finally got access to after much cleanup. We have just scratched the surface of this ginormous mess.

Congrats on the new equipment. The cleanup task, even with the new toys, will be daunting, but certainly possible. And you'll save many times over the cost of the new tractor. Many members on here will try to assure you that the B2601 is much too small to tackle such a major job. Yes, certainly a D9 would get the job done quicker. But, with patience, you'll get there. And then you'll still have a tractor that small enough to handle many tasks.

In my thinking, PSDStu made some wise long term decisions on your 'gift'.

Thank you! It is daunting even with our Kubota Fleet seen below. The B2601 is perfect for my "Assistant" job for hubby PSDStu I limb the trees with my chainsaw and then scoop them up with my 48" grapple.

Stu then cuts the trunks and hauls the HUGE trunks with his WR Long 64" Grapple. He also digs the root balls up and hauls them to the FEMA pile.

So essentially, I do the light to medium work and hubby does the heavy lifting.

Here is a picture of our Fleet as it was before Michael. The B2601 replaces the BX2360 in this picture.

BTW, all the trees in the background of this picture are just SOME of the trees that we lost from Michael.

Hope you have more than a few hours experience running a chain saw?

In the hands of a newbie it is one of the most dangerous tools ever made ☺

We were all newbies at one time. Consqeuently Sandra may have more hours on a saw than you!

Best of luck with your tractor Sandra!

The advice I offered was not meant as anything but advice!

As for your snide remark:(
at the age of 14 I was hanging on to the little end of a Diston two man saw that was 1949. I've worn out more saws than most people on this forum. I will admit old age has slowed me down just a tad, even sold my portable mill a few years ago and at present I only own two saws, neither of which I will never wear out

Interesting...we must be 2 peas...I considered your comments snide as well. I never would have posted otherwise. Please forgive my misunderstanding.
