Nice work.

When I clear brush like that, I just slowly back my 15' Rhino Flexwing running at a low RPM, raised as high as it goes into the brush. Then I slowly drop the deck -- raise the deck back up, pull forward a few feet and lower the deck again. I repeat this until I'm back out into the open. Then onto the next section. When I'm done, everything is chopped up and decomposes rather quickly.

Oh that stuff looks all too familiar. Mine is predominently "swamp Maple" with a lot of other miscellaneous "stuff" mixed in. I've finished our 1st lot and I've moved onto the 2nd 4acre parcel. I gotta say - that cab looks like it's making the job more enjoyable - and the grapple, I don't know how that would work for my growth, but it appears to be a real effective tool. Thanks for the pics though - It's good to know I'm not the only one slogging it out in these New England Jungles! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Andy it looks to me like you were putting the grapple to good use. It's amazing the work that it is capable of handling. Thanks for posting the pictures.

Gatorboy your batwing setup seems to make short work of a big job. Letting the foliage compost in place saves a ton of time otherwise spent in picking up the brush.

One must really be careful to check for posts, rocks, barbed wire, etc. when using my method. This is why I run the mower at a low RPM and slowing lower the deck. Once I'm able to get a good view of the area below, then I crank things up.

Those jaws you have is an excellent attachment -- I'd like to get some for my Bobcat.

Boy, that tangle of overgrowth brings back a lot of memories - I grew up in CT & moved away at the age of 25. Spent many years struggling through junk like that and didn't have a nice big machine like that to do it with. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Overgrowth like that isn't as common out here in this semi-arid climate. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif And I kind of miss the stone walls running all over the place, even though I complained a lot about them when I had to rebuild every one I came across. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I moved up through 5 tractor sizes before I got one with a cab. Andy yes it does have a radio and CD... and when I put it in a small refergerator. I bought this to be my last tractor, but now I'm thinking of upgrading my 2120.
