My Dad's Beaver getting rebuild

This weekend I picked up my Dad's old Satoh Beaver. I doesn't have many hours on it, but it did have two cracked pistons when I pulled the head off to see why I had no compression.
I got it up on the trailer and towed it to my shop this morning. It's been given a spot next to my Buck.

Hopefully the damage is not much more than two cracked pistons. Any idea on how that happened?

Before I moved it, I replaced the pistons and rings and was able to get it started. I have to go back and look at the governor. I don't believe I
have to installed correctly. And I also need to time the injector pump. And I'll also do a complete service of fluids and filters. Thank you for the reply
