I went and looked at a 60 inch finishing mower the other day that was on CL, the person was asking 750.00 for it and had a pic of it in which it appeared to be in good shape, well I went and looked at it and right away I figured the pic he posted was from days gone by because all four tires were shot it was rusty and dirty and basically looked like it had been sitting for years, I went home empty handed.
It’s not often but once in awhile you run into these Not as pictured sales, looks good in add but not in person.

Three days ago I listed a skid steer on FB Marketplace. Had a lot interest/questions. A female asked for my phone number because her FIL was interested. He called, showed up (60 mile drive one way) after a long conversation of every detail I could think of. He looks, starts, maneuvers around, ask more questions, starts it again, putts around a bit, looks some more. He then goes over to look at a couple of horses and tell me how he likes the black one!
Finally he say, "Let me think about it." as he and his buddy walk towards their truck. I told him I appreciate his time and interest, but if he thinks about it too long it may not be here. I told him the first one with the money will have it on their trailer. Oh, he says, "That's what I'd do to". He's a used car salesman with a farm, or so he told me. He just came to kick tires and find a machine at wholesale prices so he could make some money, I'm sure.
As I was walking to the house, I called the guy who had contacted me while I was waiting for this guy to show up. He was 40 miles away. He showed up in about 1 1/2 hrs with trailer. He went home with it.
It's not always the sellers who are questionable!!!
