My Chicken Coop

   / My Chicken Coop #31
I'm getting some 220 body traps and will experiment a bit. The fox come up a hill from the shooting range, and the birds never venture that far out. I saw some trails under the brush this afternoon. Might hit the low end of those - away from where the birds pasture - and see what I get.

I bring in hunters to get the deer. I've had Lyme twice, my wife has had it twice (she just got it again last month and is being treated now), and we've sent in ticks that were stuck to the kids and they all come back Lyme positive. So far the kids have avoided the diagnosis, but that's probably because we check them pretty good and real fast.

The birds have cleaned out a lot of tick territory and all our paths are now clear of brush and twelve foot wide. But I do the logging, and there is no way the wife and I can avoid them. So getting rid of the vectors - deer and rodents being the biggest - should help. So we'll try just about anything right now.

Sorry for the threadjack.

Not sure how I missed this thread but just now saw it. Thanks for the pics and details Eddy. Looks great. My daughter has been bugging me since we started building about getting chickens. I promised her we would start on the coop next spring. I'm sure I'll be referring back to this for ideas when the time comes.
