I purchased the B7500 about 6 weeks ago. I am a 1st time tractor owner and did much of my research from this site.
I'm by no means an expert, but hopefully this information will add to your own research.
I purchased the B7500DT 4WD with the 272 Loader. I chose the gear drive because I like the old way of changing the gears my self. I have abot 5 acres that I am eventually going to clear and plant fruit trees.
I shopped at several local tractor dealers around in my area. The B7500DT was consistantly priced in the range of mid 11,500+/- with 272 loader. I also added the optional Grill guard.
I found it very informative to visit the dealerships, look overs the sales floor and service areas, and meet some of the people. As a customer, I looked for knowledgable people that were willing to help me get the right equipment, courteous customer service, and good service dept.
It took me a while to find a B7500 that I could see, but once I did, it basically sold itself to me. It was just the size I was looking for.
It took approx 6 week to arrive, but one nice feature delivered with mine was fold down ROPs. Not sure if that is std or not, but sure is nice when it has to go into the Barn.
I am very impressed with the B7500, so far I have about 20hrs on it. It is an exceptional machine.
It has excellent pulling power. I purchased a 5ft box scraper for it and it has no trouble pulling it, within a reasonable depth of course. The box scraper is approx 400lbs (noticed that when I had to unload it from the pickup) and the 3pt hitch had no trouble lifting it out of the way even after loaded up with dirt. I have also pulled out small tree brush by the roots using a trailer hitch and tow chain.
Power steering is very smooth and makes the tractor very easy to control. I was also impressed with the very tight turning radius it has.
Changing gears is no problem.
Front loader has excellent lifting capability. Very strong, no hesitation.
The 20HP Diesel engine is amazing. Even under load, this engine does not seem to labor, it goes!
I have found the tractor to be very comfortable to use and handle. I really like the easy to use controls.
One last item that might be of interest, It seems to be a real mizer on fuel.
Finally gotta add this important tip,
Being a 1st time owner, and never really ever driving a tractor before, I took plenty of time to read thru the manuals to better understand my tractor. Definately any new tractor owner should understand all the safety precautions and components of their tractor. Keep safe, have more fun.
My conclusion, this is an impressive machine that can really do a lot of work. It's making my work a lot more fun!
