My B2620 Projects

I had this posted on a Kubota forum, but now that we have a project thread here I'll post it up here too so people can see what can be done with a small tractor.

I'll start with this......some of the one kilometre of bush road I made on my property for harvesting my firewood from up in the back yard.

I've moved just over 330 metric tonnes of pit-run B-gravel with the little B2620. (I know because i hauled it all home with the dump truck and every load was scaled.)

The hill is steeper than it looks in the pics, but I pulled that loaded 60 inch box blade up it no problem (tires not loaded either)

I bladed on that hill one day for 6.5 hours and only used 3 gallons of fuel!

The 04.5 Sportsman 500 H.O. helping out. This atv has been bulletproof. I plowed with it for 8 years before I bought the Kubota, skid and hauled firewood. Never changed a single belt or anything. Just tires and battery.

My new Polaris's.....not so much. Like many things today build quality has sure gone downhill on those.

I'll keep working this old one.

The beginning. In with the new and out with one of the old lawn tractors.

Between the mowing of 2 acres of finished lawn and the snow removal......what a huge savings in fuel with the Kubota versus gas powered lawn and garden tractors.

I can mow the lawn 12 to 13 times now with the same gallons I put in the 3 lawn tractors I've had.

First job it ever had. Snow removal. Here's my son snow blowing and one of him scraping the base off one spring with the Land Pride hydraulic angle rear blade.

While I don't mind the minus 40 degree winters on an open station (I have plow trucks from the business that sit parked while I play on the Kubota and Polaris) it does suck when you add in wind.

So I added a 12V power port to the B that is for the newer B2601 series and bought a G-Max Trekka GM11 helmet with heated shield. It works awesome!

Even when the snow dust if covering you the shield stays clear and dry and you are nice and warm.

Some of the work tools. I bought a Braber Equipment quick hitch. It looks identical to the Land Pride but was a third the price. No issues so far other than it rattles lots.

Agri-Ease 1000 pound clamp on forks.

Land Pride BB1260 box blade and LP RB1660 rear blade with hydraulic angle.

I thought I needed the angle blade with all the road work I wanted to do, but for anyone on a budget.....there is nothing you can't do with a box blade and loader. I rarely put the angle blade on.

I find the box blade to be way more useful.

Also note the dealer installed rear remote joystick. It works for me, but would need to be re-engineered if you were to add a cab.

My good friend and neighbour down the road bought this Wallenstein BXM32 chipper/shredder for us to both use. It works very good. I have put stuff bigger than 3 inch through the chipper no problem and the shredder literally turns leaves to dust I blow back onto the lawn.

As you can see I added some 4x4 wooden feet to the bottom of it. His new BX would not lower it down far enough for it to sit on the ground with his quick hitch on, so he would have had to fight to put it on and off. That was the only problem we found with it.

Love the forks for doing firewood and storm cleanups too. No more bending over to cut the logs.

Doing firewood. My big splitter is home made by my father when he had the welding and fab shop. It was made in the late 70's early 80's? It was originally a Lincoln welding machine trailer. it's been through a few engines as he always lent it to all his friends who did their best to kill it.
It currently has a 1982 Toyota Tercel 4 cylinder engine on it.

But it's getting tired and hard to get parts for, so I recently bought a new Forest King 25 ton splitter.

It was 534 pounds in the crate and my B with the clamp on bucket forks lifted it off my trailer and carried it across the yard with no issue at all. I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't think it would since those clamp on forks add so much leverage further out past the bucket.

Couple pics of the LED lights I replaced my dealer installed halogen work lights with.
I think the forward light bar is 22 or 24 inch, 120W combination spot and flood.

More of the LED lights at work. No issue with glare while in blowing snow.

They are great mowing too because they light up 360* around the tractor, so I can see the edge of the deck on both sides.

I also added some rear view mirrors so I don't have to keep looking backwards when snow blowing.

They are nice quality, adjustable and were cheap. I did drill two small holes in my loader stanchions, but in a non-load bearing area.

Pics 1 and 2 are from when I replaced my septic. Dug it with a mini-ex, but back filled and landscaped with the B.

The other pics are a load of 7/8 A gravel and a load of sandy loam I brought home and moved with the B, on top of the previous 330 tonne it moved and spread.

Well, I woke up to this wonderful snow again this morning. But the sun came out in the afternoon and I get 5 hours of cutting, splitting and piling done. Then another hour after I was in for supper.
