I bought an Optimate charger for the smaller batteries. Has keep charge and desulfinate functions. Supposed to be the next best thing.

I haven't had a problem with the 450es's battery. I have a plow for it and use it to plow my driveway so it stays charged up all of the winter. Quite a bit of snow this winter. I like the dependability of anything Honda makes. Never had a problem with the brand................

Sure agree with your choice of Honda, I own an old 3-wheeler, 250cc Big Red, even more banged-up than your 300, it is used almost daily, that is nearly 8000 times /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif, it gets rock-splitting cold up here and that thing will still crank up.I am starting to believe it will outlast me /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif, never had any problems with it other than a flat tire , a couple of batteries and burned out light-bulbs
