My alternative to position control with pics

Here is an idea I've been kicking around awhile. Pretty simple really, a laser pointer projects a spot on a metal yard stick that is attached to a implement. You can keep track of how high your implement is everytime.

This is the 12v to 3v power supply and laser pointer mounted in and on the tool box of my B7500.
