Fun? Oh yes...
Its special the moment when you hear the first sign of life in an old engine when you pull or switches the key, it might still be a long way to go before its 100% but still its special.
I had a test run with no functional clutch and had to try to cut some grass, the women in the house just cant get the joy or point of this...

The plan is to make it a 100% working machine, so I suppose I have to rip it apart and change all seals, better to do it now and doing a proper job when its still a project or wait until I have use for it and its old news.

Thats plan B if my clutch on the old engine fails. Now I'm searching for a puller to get the clutch of the shaft.

Might be able to weld it, but I think I'm going to rebuild the newest clutch disk.

Bummer, well might as well do it so you don't need to mess with it in the near future.

It cost 200$ to rebuild the clutch with new linings.

I hear you,, good stuff is never cheap. I had to replace one of the planetary assemblies in my Gravely walkbehind it was over 500 for a new one, good used was 100 but I had to wait for one to come up for sale but I have other machines to take up the slack while it was down.

I hope to have this machine for years, the engine I got hold of seems to be in excellent shape, that I'm worry about is rust from condense water in the bearings.
But its all std metric bearings so the cost of new is very low.

Seems to be a good supply of parts for Gravely machines, took a eBay search just for fun.

Did manage to get the clutch off the parts engine without the right puller.
Tomorrow I must try to weld it.

Trying to use a puller on my new engine but no

All good things come with time. Patience is not one of my better qualities either.
