Looks nice! I bet the rain is hardly going to keep you from taking it for a spin.

Can I ask why you chose that Deere? I'm looking for something like that, but haven't settled on brand or exact size.

What size is the mower?

I hope I don't bore you with my explanation but here goes...

To answer your first question: Just like my user name states, I was raised on John Deere.

My first JD was a brand new 1968 John Deere 20 pedal tractor my grandfather bought me and that I still have to this day. It's had numerous nieces, nephews and cousins kids beating the heck out that pedal tractor. From there I grew up on My grand dads 1968 JD model 140 Garden tractor. He would ride me around on it everywhere and anytime he used it. I got to ride in the John deere 80 series wagon. :) When I got a little older I mowed endless hours of lawns and snowblowed what seemed like thousands of feet of snow with that tractor.
My grampfather still has this tractor and it's still in use to this day mowing and snowblowing.

When I moved out on my own I purchased my own John Deere 445 lawn & garden tractor. It's been 100% reliable for the last 10 years so I guess it was only right to stay true to JD and continue the legacy with my latest purchase. The 2520.. So I figured that if John Deere has lasted this long why not continue on.

My gramps will be 90 yrs old this July and his face lit up with a big grin when I told him I bought the 2520. I definitely wouldn't want to see the look on my grampfathers face if I told him I bought anything other than John Deere.. :D

Sorry that was abit long winded..

Second question: It's a 62 inch drive over mower deck.

I loving the 2520.. It's a beast..

I started out looking at the X749 but by the time you added the 3 point hitch and all the bells and whistles I wanted It was up to a 2320/2520 price. Once I decided that I was going to be looking at the 2320, 2520 and the 2720 It didn't take long to X out the 2720 as I wasn't going to run a bush hog or tiller off the back pto and I thought that the few extra Hp wasn't worth $1,500 to $1,800 extra in the price tag. Now it came down to the 2320 and the 2520. I went and looked at both of these tractors at the dealers. Both had the $1,000 off with two implements. The 2720 did not. So my reasoning was if I don't buy the 2720 I just saved $1,500 to $1,800 bucks. Then add that $1,000 rebate. Bingo !!! There's my free front end loader. There were a couple small things that kept me from the 2320. One was I liked the larger rear wheels and the larger Hydraulic pumps on the 2520. The best thing about when I was ready to take delivery of my 2520 is John Deere raised the rebate from $1,000 to $2,500 so it was just perfect timing for me and I fell in love all over again.. :D

Wheeew I tired now..

Hope this helps some on your decision. My best advise to you on your purchase is to keep reading these forums. I've learned alot..

You must be young..I grew up on Wheel Horses before John Deere got into the game..Then it was 110 Variable speeds, 112's with eletric lifts. 140's with triple hydrolics, then to the covered engine compartment models..

My father delt in Lawn and Garden equipment as a dealer since I was like 5 yrs old..I am old as dirt or older..

You will love the 2520..It is such a stunning tractor in every way it just amazes me everytime I get on it..
