Here's what my brother and I added to my bucket to move the trailer around. We also made the drop hitch and the hook out of some scrap we had laying around. If I have any kind of bending on the top of the bucket I will stiffen it up underneath. We just did not want to add the weight if it was not needed. I added a few of the bikes too, checking to see how this set up will work for a road trip later in the summer out west. Enjoy the pictures I know I do when others post them and thanks for all the great ideas on TBN.

Excellent job!

Ride those bikes! Don't trailer them! (I rode to Sturgis in 2002 from Maryland, rode 5100 miles in 14 days:D)

Kenny I rode to Sturgis once before also. I think is was 2002 or 2003. It was real cold a few nights and it was after the year of all rain. What a blast but it was a long ride. We did 4000 miles in 10 days. If the trailer did not work out we would be riding and maybe we will.

Stuarth , That was a very nice job. very clean looking.:)
I see you made one of the recievers with the hook.
moveing trailers will be fine. but if you do decide to lift something heavy
two 1/4 inch gussets from the back of the bucket to the top edge would bearly add 2 pounds of weight to your bucket. I know when i did mine i weighed them. and it would be super strong. you could max the loader out without ever concidering bending the bucket. Great job....;)

How do you see the ball/coupler to get aligned? It looks like the bucket is in the way.

That is some very impressive craftsmanship on that hitch receiver...and I don't throw that "craftsmanship" word around loosely! Well done!
