I know that this is not a train sight but some of you asked for it . If you have to delete this post or move it I understand. I always wanted to build a older Chessie Diesel Locomotive. At first I thought maybe it could be powered . I am about making it look correct on the outside and then go back and make it work on the inside with the space i have . So the dozer and the train I did a lot of thinking about powering them. I started building the front cab and the rear tail section. I had left right front and rear drawings , I scaled them up to the size that would fit in my little workshop . I had no idea if I could make it look right . Everytime I change scales it changes everything as far as perspective. I just took it one day at a time not knowing how to make most of the parts. Each day I made more progress and was happy . The trucks and brake detail was tricky but it ended up looking pretty good. I know nothing about trains but people tell me it looks pretty good. It weighs about 1,000 lbs.

Once I roughed in everything I started to think about how to make a section of track to display it on and how to move it around .donprimer.jpgdonsbell.JPGdonsbell2.jpgdonsrooffanstrain.jpgdonstrainprimedtanks.jpg

Here is the final painted and decaled toy train. This also was a awesome project to try to build . Everyday I could not get to my little workshop fast enough . My workshop is the size of a one car garage and i have no lathe or milling machine or computerized plasma cutter. I hand cut everything with a hand shear and a small plasma cutter and a hand operated 6 inch shear. All the sheet metal is 18ga.achessie5.jpgachessiedone.jpgachessiedone2.jpgachessiedone3.jpgachessiedone4.jpgachessiedone5.jpg

I am the first to admit making static non working models is nothing compared to building working models . But I feel it is a start. I recently bought several garden tractors for axles , engines , etc. for future working projects. So I am not satisfied with non working models.

Sir, you have serious skill. Not many people in the world could fabricate such a model from scratch. Excellent work.
