MX6 and 3720 and 990

I find the 990 or the 970 for that matter to be very stable on hills with the turf tires I run. They are the same size tires used on the large frame 4K series. Weekly I mow on the side of our country road with is very steep banked and have yet to run into a stability issue. The ags will make it more unstable but it still should be pretty solid. You can always switch the rims to the widest position. I think you would be happy with your purchase unless you need more horsepower.

OK, you don't want to move up to a 4000TWENTY. And you know we aren't forcing you to make that decision... The 990 will handle the MX6. I pull one behind my 2900Lb 4310. But only with the loader on. Usually with a few rocks in the bucket. (They grow well here...)

The biggest issue will be hillls. Going accross a slope the mower can pull you sideways down slope. So going straight up and down may be the best answer.

The MX is a great cutter. I looked at the other brands, but decided it was the way to go. I haven't been dissapointed!

Just a thought, a 5103 would be less money than a 990 and more power. No problem pulling a MX6.

As to the 5103; I also intend to operate a rototiller with my tractor, and also perform light discing operations. I've read (in more than one place) that the gearing of the 5103 machines is such that they do not work well for tillage applications.

Mike Mc, I'd love 4000TWENTY; just a matter of $$$.

FWIW, I do have some hills on my place, not terribly steep. Nearly always I'll be able to travel straight up or down. Plan on using R1's, filled.

I Have R1s, set full wide, they provide great stability and traction...

If you like the 990, you will like the 5103. Its not that much more expensive but may be bigger than you want. It marries up with the MX 6 just fine. The 5103 does not have 4wd however.
