I went back to Kubota dealer and this is what I may be getting.
MX5100 HST
4x4
FEL
Box Grater
Rear Remote
Tires filled(Some Kind of Methanol mix or something, said it was kinda like the stuff you clean windows with)
All this for 28,000 out the door, tax and all. Not worried about getting super duper deal, but is this good or what?

Here is the Breakdown
MX5100 HST 4x4, with quick tach loader,Tires Filled= $24,800
Box Blade= $600
Rear Remote= $700
Tax= $2600
Total= $28,700
With the box blade and remote I am guessing we are more within $2,000. What was your tax total, or are you buying on tax number. This is the cheapest I have been able to get, and I have 5 dealers to work with. Could go $1,000 Cheaper with cash, but haven't decided whether or not to go that route or hold onto the cash for now.

So we are actually closer than I thought. I could do the Farm exempt, but I plan on using for Personal use, side bussiness, and as a backup on the family farm. But giving what you said, I could purchase the MX5100 HST 4x4 with FEL and tires filled for $23,800 in cash.
The diff is in the extras. Must be good price then thanks. By the way, this will backup an old FORD 2910 on the farm.

I recently purchased a MX5100 DT (Gear Drive) 4x4 with Kubota FEL and quick connect bucket, Grill guard, Rear Ag tires filled, 3rd Function remote (for future thumb or grapple), 6' Taylor-Way Rotary Tiller and Gator equipment trailer to haul all the above from an out of state dealer delivered for $27,375 (375 for delivery and no sales tax because out of state).

So the breakdown was $1,800 for trailer, 1,750 for the rotary tiller, 750 for the installed WR Long 3rd function remote, and remainder 23,075 was for the tractor with all the stuff and delivery and remember, no tax. I am extremely happy with the delivery and help after delivery and the price speaks for itself.

The tractor has exceeded all my expectations so far. :thumbsup:

NC Retiree, I just agreed with dealer to buy the exact same tractor you have.What size trailer did you buy? I have a 16ft tandem axle already and am hoping it will work.

The trailer is an 18' Gator Made tandem axle 7.000 lbs rated equipment trailer with brakes and a 2 5/16" ball. It seemed pretty maxed out weight and length wise with the tractor, FEL, filled Ag tires and rotary tiller. I believe it had only 200lbs of unused rated capacity left. I stayed with it because I will seldom carry it with FEL and Tiller.

I am always amazed at how cheap everything is in America. That same deal in Canada (Nova Scotia) is $36,000 out the door, taxes in. And our dollars are on par. The difference must be taxes, hidden and otherwise. It really makes me envious when I hear of the fantastic deals you get in the US.
I priced out a new shop to the same specs as another guy on a farm forum. He was in Indiana (I think) and his price was $45,000. My price in Nova Scotia was $160,000 and that was the cheaper of two quotes I got. I can't see minor changes making that much difference!
Oh well,
I am probably going to get the MX5100. I want a smaller tractor, and this one has similar controls to my old 1970, Massey 1080.
Bye for now,

It's not just the taxes. For whatever reason the MSRP in Canada always seams higher. When the exchange rate was $1 American to $1.50 Canadian It was worth while to go up and buy things like ATVs and outboards but now it's not worth even thinking about it.

I thought Canada has a VAT tax that's built into the price by the mfg? I recall watching that House Hunters show where a guy was looking at buying a new construction condo in Vancouver and had to figure in the added VAT. I guess the first buyer of a new residence pays the tax and thereafter it's built into the sales price. I would assume something similar takes place with personal propert. Am I wrong?

No, we have the lovely HST on top of retail. It's a scary number too and definitely makes one think twice about big purchases. One reason I have not already bought a new tractor is the 40%+ income tax, the 13.5% HST on goods and services and nice fat real estate tax bill of $4k for no services (on my own water, septic, etc.).

Yeah I'm disgruntled...want a new tractor! I wish I could get the MX5100 for that price. The L4400 is being quoted to me at $24k but I would rather have the MX4700.
