Here's a couple shots of my MX bringing out some Poplar that last years drought killed.

Could you tell me what type winch you have?

My tractor is the same size, and I'm looking at a Farmi 290 for sale but I'm wondering if it's perhaps too small for my tractor. How does your tractor handle the winch?

It's a Wallenstein fx90 9000lb capacity. It's paired pretty well with my kubota. I would say 8-10k would be the sweet spot for a tractor this size. Anything larger would be pretty hard on the tractor I think. Mine will move the tractor backwards without any strain if the buttplate of the winch doesn't plant down like it should.ive had the winch for five years and have been very well satisfied with it.

I was seriously considering buying the FX90 when I was thinking about buying a brand new winch last fall. I like your setup and I'm glad to know it works well with my size tractor.

I've found that for what I do a large frame cut works very well. I have several landowners close by that let me cut wood off their land and I like the high maneuverability of my tractor to reduce impact. The wallenstein winch seals the deal to. I'd but another in a heartbeat. I hope to be using my tractor to do forestry work for hire in the near future. I have all the steel purchased to build a full belly pan for the my tractor and my dads new massey 1529 that he uses in the woods. I'll post pics of the build on here as soon as I find time to get started.
