MX 5100 review and info

Why is the MX5100 now listed as a discontinued line? Is there a set lifetime for each Kubota model? And are parts still avail after they officially become discontinued? Anyone know?

I didn't realize that it was a discontinued model! All of the dealers here have them on their lots and they appear to be really good selling machines. I haven't asked my dealer if they are discontinuing it, but I will the next time I see him. Parts are not a problem for Kubotas here. Just before I sold my L2900 (14 year old tractor) I replaced a hydraulic fitting and I ordered the part. It only took 2 days to get it.

Kyan, I looked under discontinued lines on TRACTORBYNET and it lists the MX5100 as a discontinued line..maybe someone else could have an explanation.

I didn't know there was a discontinued lines forum here. I couldn't find one. I will email my dealer and see what he has to offer regarding this. I will respond after I hear from him. Kubota still lists it on their website and you can still build and price one there.

if you look under forums / reviews and then it lists the chosen brand and list of models...it then has an option of current and discontinued models...

i doubt if they are stopping production on the MX5100.if they are youll still be able to get parts for them.

OK, here is the information on the MX5100 being discontinued. A friend of mine is a Kubota dealer and a John Deere dealer, I posed the discontinuance question to him. Here is his reply: Hey Dan,

I called Kubota US, this is a current tractor here and we can order all we want. But Kubota is building a new manufacturing plant in Georgia and are planning to move all production of their midsize tractors here to the US.

I am surprised that they sell that model in Australia, Country to country the oversea models seem to be different than what we have here. This is the same with Deere.

Very interesting either brand allows this, around here every dealer is pretty well brand specific. Very surprising to see the top 2 manufacturers selling at the same place - be like having a Ford, Chevy, and Dodge dealer all together - really awesome, just surprising.:thumbsup:

This the reply i got from my local dealer with interesting stats when i listed some issues about an issue with the L4400 ....The connector between the transmission and the rest of the hydraulic system is exposed under the tractor in a Z shaped fitting with 0 ring fittings at each end and can be bent or pulled out by high brush. " ..which i thought was a reasonable answer.


Kubota has 38% market share in the USA. Sells approx 160,000 tractors a year.

We have the odd client come back with various questions / concerns re their purchase in which we deal with as they arise."
