Must Have Shop Items

A real comfy moaning chair. For those times you need to sit back and take stock of your current project. When I built my cedar strip freighter canoe, I used mine a lot.

Has anybody mentioned First Aid stuff yet?

Nope.... worst part about that is: I am a paramedic.... there is not one band-aide in my shop.... go figure.
I think if I got that hurt a band-aide or first aid kit is not going to help anyway....

Adding to the list

Added AC to my shop to keep summer humidity away from tools and equipment. Then discovered I liked it.

Curse words are classified as technical terms in my shop. Used liberally as needed.

After re-arranging shop and tools I labelled drawers and bins to be able to find what I need. Downside is my son and others can also find things.

Safety equipment is in abundance and used. Glasses, ear plug, gloves, face masks, lockout/tagout, etc. On client sites I keep telling folks "Everyone needs ability to count to 10 at end of the day". In non-mixed groups the number goes up to 21.

Good portable lighting. Getting old has gathered a bunch of foam pads for kneeling, etc. Paper, pens and markers are needed memory extension tools.

^^ Maybe a container to toss your finger(s) in?

Not too small of a container .... IMG_0980.jpg

Not certain, but an important one!

and parts room. (Dollar store mirror to accompany it.). I like to keep them somewhere handy but also relatively clean and out of harms way.

30 year old First Aid Kit for which I will need to build a new small easy to open container as this one is UV’ed out.

Keeping these accessible and well stocked will hopefully lessen your chances of ever needing them.

Moaning chair! How apropos! I love it.

I use mine all the time. It was another of my dumpster finds. Only needed a little duct tape.

I value a tourniquet higher than a band-aide.
