I like this one better, gets the muffler out of the engine compartment to help lower heat.



Brandnewengines is selling them on Ebay for $195 (free shipping), which is a good price. This is the one Kent put on his 28FI, and I will put on my PT422 as soon as my tendonitis subsides (hard to do stuff like this one handed).

I have this one on my 28FI also. I was lucky enough to get it new for $60 on ebay from a guy who bought but never used it.

Thanks for the post JJ, I'm ordering right now. I've been dealing with the overheating issue in the summers while using the rough-cut mower since I bought it in 2006.

How do you intend to install it? Without any modification the actual muffler will be inside the tub, no?

Yes, I'm thinking a less restrictive muffler is a cooler one? I'm going to be getting a small Hatz diesel engine soon for a future swap. My hope is this will make the Robin run cooler a quieter until then.
