Hey I've got tthis problem solved, finally...

My old 372 was parked under the roof for 2 months last fall. When I needed it I cranked on her far too much. Finally we moved her into the garage for some more intensified TLC. I was only getting white smoke when cranking and some blowback through the intake. Knew I had either a stuck valve or a bad compression ring. But, wanted to do everything I could first, to avoid pulling that head off.

* Blowing compessed air into the Glow-plug holes proved that there was lots of carbon in the intake...
$Tapping on the valve ends (with a plastic hammer) helped to re-seat them.

*Found corrosion inside injector lines.
$Dissassembled, cleaned the fuel pistons, injection lines and injectors myself.

*Still Wasn't starting and had some blow-back through intake. Must have had a bad ring?
$ Used the air compressor and blew air straight into the intake while cranking and it started immediately.

But, after good diesel soaking and fresh oil and getting her warmed-up saved the day! She now runs, better than before...

I hope this may help others like me to save $...

Thats always good info to have. It is a pain when you remove fuel lines bleeding and trying to get them started.

thanks for sharing the info.
