Just recently I have noticed on my MT2001 that when the tractor is under load, and I'm trying to apply the rear locking differential, it keeps popping out. Even if I hold my foot down on the lever, it forces my foot off. W/o a load seems to stay down with just the weight of my foot. Anyone know what may be broken/loose/wornout?

Maybe nothing.

I believe the lock is designed to work with both wheels under equal tension or resisitance.
By hitting a steering brake (braking one side) you are unbalancing the forces.
Besides it should stand to reason that you don't try to turn by differential braking as that defeats a 'locked' rear end.
I notice that when 'locked' all I need to do to disingage is to ease up on the throttle and out she comes.
It is an even constant tension that keeps the lock engaged.
Also you simply can't turn when locked as both wheels go foreward at same pace.

I would suspect the tabs on the dif lock are rounded forcing them apart when under load.
