As a side note, we had a Prime Minister named Joe Clark during the latter 1970's.
His wife was Maureen McTeer, which caused some considerable commentary at the time.
She refused to change her name to Clark, or hyphenate as an alternative, much to the more traditional minded types of the time.
Just a bit of Canadian trivia in the event you have need of it...
