Mowing the Septic Field with Tractor?

Very soon, I will be a new farm owner (12 acres, horses) and ready to make a ton of mistakes! And maybe avoid a few /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The inspector of my new property has advised me to not drive anything over the septic field. Sounds reasonable...I don't need any big repair bills. Do I need to get a little lawn tractor to cover specific areas, or do the experienced use their compact-sized tractors with RFM even on the septic field?

I'm still leary of it, but I will be using whatever tractor I buy to do my mowing, so it will pretty much have to work! Good luck...
