Mowing Deck question

Last year I purchased a BX 1800 with a 54 mowing deck. I can't get the deck adjustable wheels free up they don't stop me from mowing but they will not adjust. I have tried beating them loose but no luck. Any ideas?

not sure what you mean? the black plastic wheels not turning? or shaft holding the wheels to adjust up and down at preset height?

If you meant thee shaft, its a difficult decision. normally if I didnt have paint to worry about I would add heat from torch on outside collar of shaft till its hot enough to melt candle wax. Let it cool, support bottom of deck and give it a good whack on shaft downwards.
Otherwise, I just might add rust buster fluids you have in your garage. ( wd40 is pretty weak, you need industrail strength. I would mix up ATF and diesel 50/50 and coat the shaft and let it sit overnight before cleaning away with rust breaking fluid and try to free it.

Mine did that on our BX2200 and I couldn't budge them by banging on them, so after letting them soak in lube, I used a large crescent type wrench and got them to move a bit side to side by twisting and gradually worked them free adding fluid occasionally.

Get some PB Blaster. Spray and let it sit overnight. You can get a wrench on the square block where the wheel bolts into the shaft and work it back and forth. If it doesn't free up, spray it again.

To be honest I don't even remember which one as I have different types of lube and penetrating oil in my garage. It will need to be pretty thin to penetrate and as mentioned, it will take time to penetrate.
