I decided I wasn't going to fool around. While I was waiting for the second set of tires to come in, and tubes this time, I Rubed up a 6" rim tire changer. Two 3/4 bolts, two 3/4 to 1" 3ph bushings, two 3/4 nuts welded together, and a tire spoon with the right angles made from 1 X 1/4 and 1 x 1/8 bar. Tires came yesterday and I just finished mounting them. Went slicker than a greased pig this time. I couldn't believe it. Two lessons learned - Find out before ordering in what shape the tires will arrive. Do not accept squashed tires. And take the time to get a good set-up. Been fixing flats and working on these mower tires for 20 years. Every time a pain. Now that we're both, me and the mower, getting to the end, I finally make a tool. Go figure.
