Deere 2305, 200CX, 62" MMM on the way!!!
New guy here.... I am going to place a deposit on a 2305 w/200cx and 62" MMM. My dealer is suggesting the mechanical lift which works with the 3-point hitch versus the independednt lift. I could not find any threads on this subject and would like to hear the pros and cons of each lift type. Thanks for your help.

I have the independent lift but i think if i had it to do over again i would go with the 3 point lift simpy because you cannot use the Fel and the deck lift without switching hoses and thats a PIA

I've used both (currently mechanical) and have really no preference on either one. With the mechanical linkage, it is important to keep the 3 point arms well greased so the lift arms don't wear away the top of the 3 point arm. Both raise and lower equally as well. If you get mechanical there is no lift cylinder to become leaky over time or wear out. The mechanical decks are not hard to pin up to allow full use of the 3 point hitch.

I have the idependant lift and not by choice. The dealer didn't charge me for it because it was going to take something like 5 shop hours to remove it. Not worth the extra money. You have to re-set the mowing height everytime you take it off and on. Can't really see any great advantage over draft control. To me just something else to go wrong down the road.

Dealer said they weren't ordering on any new tractors unless customer requests it.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info. I'll stick with the mechanical lift. My dealer is the one who actually suggested it. Possibly by feedback from others???
