Mower deck wash port

Hi.....Does anyone have any first hand experience or comments on the effectiveness of mwer deck water wash ports?

I added one to our lawnmower, (bought it at John Deere for under $10). It worked well for our 48" cheapo mastercraft.

I had one on my Jacobsen. It was great at cleaning the deck. Wish I had one on my Simplicity but the fact that I take the deck off a couple of times anyhow allows me to keep it clean.

I suppose it will depend on the location of the port, and what volume of water you can get into it. My personal opinion based on some I have tried to use, is that they are next to worthless, just a marketing gimmick. They were popular around the 1970's on some mowers and then disappeared for a while, now they are back.
