Cub Cadet 3000
I am having a heck of a time trying to figure out how to remove the mower
deck from my Series 3000 Cub Cadet with shaft drive.
I have all removed.... but deck does not move far enough rearward to
free shaft.
I could get it out if I removed rear wheels and suspended tractor.... but I know there is a trick to this.
Can anyone explain this puzzle to me ?
Thanks,
Pete

The PTO has a slip collar on it, so if you push back the bigger outside knurled ring, (slip collar) and pull the shaft off at the same time it will come out. It's a little tight under there while doing it, but the PTO shaft is extendable and can be unhooked in almost any position.

Good luck!

there is a quick connect collar on the end of the driveshaft that connects to the pto. compress the collar, and the driveshaft collabses on itself.

Thanks Guys.... this is just what I was looking for !
I was looking to slide shaft out..... barking up the wrong tree.
Now the job will be a cinch.
