Mower blades

Nothing like freeze / thaw cycles to lift rocks.

I used to grow hay in fields that needed to be dragged to remove the rocks every couple of years to allow the planter to plant seed without breaking. It seemed like the supply was endless, and it seemed like you could do it it twice in a row and find nearly as many rocks on the second pass as the first.

I can not exactly say that I miss those fields...Now I have clay or gravel for soil. It is always something.

All the best,

Peter

I have places where I sure could use those rocks! Where I grew up 15 miles from here it's in line with an enormous rock quarry. That quarry has been expanding and moving towards there, buying up property as they go. Now it's about 1500ft away.
Forty years ago I bought my place, yesterday found three tennis ball sized rocks in pasture which was unusual. I can auger for fence posts and rarely ever find one.

Maybe the rocks came from a blast at the quarry.

The rock vein goes through the home place grandad bought in 1939 before the quarry according to my geologist brother.
They do blast. 20200616_113606.jpg
