Moving to the Farm

May take a while to find out. Thanks for the update. How warm are ya'll? We're going to be pushing 70 by weekend. Mid 60's most of the week.

"Only time will tell how this all will pan out, but I have already let the kids, mostly Homestead Boys #1 & 2 that there is at least the possibility of us needing to re-home Scooter. There is not much else I could do with him, as he is too little to bother with meat. Hopefully that isn’t necessary."

That is where the 'and dumplings' come into the picture. And about your spare JO rooster. If his bad traits outweigh his good ones, I wouldn't use him for breeding. But those same traits that make him a jerk, may be good in hens defending their space. The fast turnaround time in breeding chickens make it possible to hatch out a few and see how they turn out in just a few weeks.

My spare JO rooster has good traits as well, at least in form. I had to get rid of one that had a crossed beak.

We are in the low 50's for highs right now. Supposed to be 60 on Sunday. I'm not complaining.

It's 10:30 pm and 64 outside and calm... as in calm before the storm... supposed to get are first El Nino storm tomorrow...

Last week the water for the horses froze... so quite a difference in temps... at least the Christmas Tree sales have been ahead of last year... all bets are off if we have days of rain...

I like the limbs and leaves for camo. If you crisscross a few branches, then dump leaves on them, it will look pretty natural. Of course none of that matters if the kids don't sit still while they are hunting. I know I'm never able to last over an hour without starting to fidget.

I have a couple of shooting houses that are really simple to build and will keep the rain and snow off. I'm at work, so don't have any pictures, but I'll post some when I think of it.
