Maybe pne thing to think before putting your septic in.... Do you have a RV ? Planning to eventually have one ? Or friends and relative with o e that may visit ofently ? When I put my septic in, I pay the backhoe an extra hour .... And I run an oter line approx 100 feet from the house. I do have a rv, and now I have my own dump station , in fact , now I have a 1 rv spot with 50 amp full hook up for my rv, or when famillt and freinds are coming by. It might be something to think. Ot is really cheap to add this when it's planned ahead.... Just a tought !!

I think the plan will be that when we build we will use the connections that were formerly for the mobile home as rv hookups. I will check and see about running another line now.

Well, we got an offer on our house. Trying to figure out how we want to work it. In the meantime I am hoping to meet some cement guys at the farm tomorrow so we can get going on that.

Great news {if the price is what you are asking} Having money on hand always makes moving/building easier.

Hi from down under!
Hey go for it! Dreams are free even better when you make it happen!
We moved to the country when I was transferred as a provincial area manager in 1987. We ran cattle, sheep and finally dairy grazers on the block. The along came they didn't want me no more! City was knocking on the door so we did a small subdivision and sold up. Invested the money and paid off our reafforestation retirement block and disappeared to parts of South America and Europe for a year.
That was ten years ago and we have since planted a lot of native trees and built a home. It is too big but must keep an eye on the future! We have done all the development work except where diggers were required.
My ancient Valpadana RM4 I80 has been ideal but some of the slopes are even too much for it. We are both 68 years old. Anyone wanting to know more about New Zealand welcome to contact me.
Valpadana RM 4 180, Sthil Brush cutter & chainsaw, Garden way Rotary hoe ,Gallagher Rotary mower, Home built spot sprayer & grader blade.

Sounds like an adventure. I would love to come visit you in New Zealand. That is the one country I want to visit in my life.

My new San Francisco neighbors just moved from New Zealand... they enjoyed it well enough... in the end, the pull of home was too much for the wife and so they set off for a new adventure in California...

So the offer fell through. The buyers flaked out. It is what it is. In the meantime it jolted us into action so we now have approval from the township with regards to zoning. We now have to apply for plan approval and permits at the county. I have talked with the building inspected who is also the plan approver and it doesn't sound like it should be a problem. We will see I that holds true.

Back to showing the house.

NZ is a great place. I spent a year working and travelling around and made lots of friends. Worked at Wairakei Geothermal Power Station, Manapouri construction (1966) and Ford Motor Company when it had it's plant in Petone - Wellington area.
Have been back several times and would like to make another before my time is up.
Good to hear from Kiwi's and their own interesting projects.
Thankls
Jim

Ah, the joys of home selling. It sure can be frustrating and if you are living in the home, it's a lot of work and inconvenience too.
