Moving my BX-24

Got a great soloution.
I've been noticing that a neighbor's dad has been bringing by his 7610 a lot over the last several weeks on his flatbed. I asked him if I could pay him to move my tractor 10 miles. He's obviously a Kubota owner because he said he would do it next week for free. I think I'll end up having him drop me about 2 miles short since he would be easier for him to maneuver the trailer around there, so I'll end up driving part of the way.

Single's lot is 10 mi away. The BX's top speed is 7mph so it will give him 1.43hrs of personal time with his baby. Let us know what kind of mileage you get!

He needs some bigger tires or an overdrive. I think my L does something like 11.2 with the ags and 10 or so with the turfs. Funny thing is my BIL has an old L175, I think that sucker does about 15mph!!

Got her moved yesterday! Neighbor came by and said now is the time. Right during the Seahawk game of course, but thank God for the DVR. I carefully put the 420 lb box scraper in the loader bucket and drove it right on the trailer. We then dropped the scraper back down flat, strapped everything down and headed off. He wouldn't even let me give him gas money, but he did give me a bad time for trying to use cardboard between the scraper and loader bucket to keep the paint from scraping off
The great unknown was where to put it on the 20 acres and whether of not it would drive over the rough terrain. I went slowly, still with the scraper in the loader bucket and had no problems whatsoever. I am very glad I bought the Bro-Tek skidplate, however. The tall grasses would have certainly gotten clogged in the HST fan. The thing was kind of a pain to install on the 24, but seems to have been worth it.
Anyway, I put a tarp over the tractor for now until I erect the $180 Costco tarp garage thing. It has a steel frame and separate tarps for the roof and garage. I was looking at a $300 one on northerntool.com but they wanted $180 for shipping. Costco had one for $180 total. Well, plus tax anyway.
After the tarp shed is up, it is time to build trails and clear brush!
