I've got a 48x33x15 open sided machine shed that was in a very poor location. I decided this Fall to move it. First I thought I'd unbolt it from the 8 piers it was standing on, jack it up, put skids under it, and drag it to the new site. After sleeping on that consideration, I decided to disassemble it and move it. I also wanted to shorten it's height by 3 ft so needed it apart anyway.
Turned out to be a relatively simple process. Took couple days to build the pad. Took a day to pour the 8 piers. Took one day to tear it down. Two days to reassemble. Then added stub walls, walk-in door and 2 sliding doors to what was the open side.

First pics are teardown.

I took all the vertical beams and the tin back to my shop and shortened them 38". This let me build 12ft tall doors to finish enclosure.

Then gathered the gang again for rebuild. I texted them all and said we were having an "erection party". And that I was providing the Beer afterwards. My gang falls for that every time.

These pics show the erection and finished product with the open side as it was originally, just shorter in height.

Then I started enclosing the open side with stub walls, a walk-in and two 16x12 sliding doors.

I had never worked with sliding doors before. What a steep learning curve. Especially on a building that was not designed to use them. But I finally got em done and now can open both doors at the same time by extending my track outside the building.

James, I'm very blessed. My family never hesitates to help on these projects. I'd like to think it's because they love me so much..... But it may be the "free Beer" thing, not sure. :)
