There is never only ONE mouse. If you see one, there are many more.

MoKelly

So true. There are probably mice even when you would swear there aren't

Only thing to do is open up the belly of the intact mouse and look at the contents, take DNA samples :D

Mice will fight, kill and eat there own.

We found this out when I was a kid. We bought a new mouse so my old mouse could have a friend. I heard a bunch of movement in the mouse cage the night after we brought home Scooby.

In the morning I went to check on the mice. I saw one moving around. Then I saw Scooby. Or what was left of him. The other mouse had killed him and eaten his head.

Scared $%^&*( out of my parents when I went screaming down the hall. :D:D:D:D:D:D

I need to ask my parents WHY they let me have a second mouse. Did they want MORE mice?:laughing::laughing::laughing:

My dad asks a Professor at school about The Scooby Incident. The Prof with mickey experience said that mice are very territorial and will fight non family members.

Later,
Dan

:2cents:Could also be a weasel, although he probably would have eaten the entire thing. If it is though, you won't have a mouse problem for long.:)

OK, just got # 3......keeping the traps set and fingers crossed that that's it.

As for the woodpile in the garage, it's actually about 10 pieces i went and just cut up a few days ago, not a "formal" woodpile that I always have filled/draw from. I do appreciate the comments on it, and will be using up the rest of it reallll quick........

FYI, I was told by FIL that Mice love candy corn, and he's absolutely right......! :licking:

Mice will get thru a 1/2" hole, so they are likely to be able to find a way into your garage.

I had a trap set for a squirrel and repeatedly found the thing tripped but no squirrel. Finally figured out that mice were strolling in, enjoying a feast and when the trapped tripped, they just went out thru the screen that was part of the trap. Reset the trap where the mice couldn't go, got the squirrel and let's just say he won't be a problem for anyone ever again.

I use a lot of the stick traps, diypestcontrol.com is a great site for materials.

Overhead doors are hard to seal enough to keep out mice. I had one mouse from hades who chewed through the rubber seal enough to squeeze through the resulting hole between the bottom and side seals. Then he proceeded to make a nest on top of the car engine where he nibbled on the wire harness.

Pack steel wool in any crack or hole a mouse can work on. They don't like the taste of steel wool :)

Also if you find the path of intrusion and it is practical crushed glass works had and old timer uncle that had trouble with mice in his cold cellar they were running along the top of the basement wall . He put up a small lip to form a "troth" and filed it with broken glass. Won't say it eliminated the problem but thinned them out. I guess if they get their feet cut it pretty much curtains what with all the nasty they walk through.
