I just scored a used B4672 backhoe which I mounted on my B7610 today. Things went pretty well but I've got a couple of questions/problems.
First, there is a pipe weldment on the rear of the bottom of the backhoe frame (towards the tractor) that, at the moment, doesn't appear to be doing anything. I'm guessing that it's supposed to be adjusted in order to make contact with the bottom of the two lower tractor 3-pt arms in order to brace or strengthen the attachment. Right now there is about a 2 inch gap between the weldment and the bottom of the 3-pt arms. Am I right about this?
Second, the top link of the backhoe is supposed to attach to the tractor with two hardened 3/4" pins. The upper hole in the bar that is part of the backhoe is a circular hole, while the lower hole is more of a slot. My problem is that when I get the pin in the upper circular hole, I can't get the pin to go in the lower slotted hole. There is just enough offset in the holes so that the pin won't slide in. Is there a trick to getting both of these pins in the holes? Installing the pins is further complicated by the fact that there is little or no room to drive the pins through the holes with a hammer.
Thanks in advance for any help.
