diverter.jpgOkay, I have a diverter valve mounted on the FEL arm and plumbed-in to the curl lines. Now I'm ready to get new hoses made for the thumb cylinder, and wondering where to put the QDs. There are two 90s on the output ports and I have the QDs mounted on those right now, and am wondering if it makes sense to leave them there, or if there are good reasons to put them up front. I see most people run lines up to the crossbar and mount the QDs there, and have separate shorter hoses on the thumb cylinder.

Advantage to having the QDs right on the valve is, with the thumb off the hoses go with it - leaves the tractor nice and neat, and might be easier to keep the QDs clean. Disadvantage that I see is, long floppy hoses to manage when the thumb is disconnected. (If that ever happens...) What else am I not thinking of?

The long floppy hoses would drive me nuts. I have mine zip-tied nice and neat and they stay put.

I'm about to add a second diverter to the cross bar (first one is back on the upper arm by the pivot with soft lines run down to the cross bar) and will have a dedicated QD bracket for the 3rd function connections because it takes some force to get them fitted if the grapple's been out in the sun or I didn't get it bled down enough when taking it off. Adding provisions for a lever to shove the QDs on when there's pressure in the lines will make things easier than my current ratchet strap method. :)

Second diverter is for a power SSQA actuator (cylinder).
