Hi all, been a day or twelve since I posted on any of the forums.......don't know if I can mention the name of the motor I bought to replace the greveously worn out original in this tractor, but suffice it to say it is a V twin, twenty HP gas jobby, air cooled, My plan is to use the original flywheel/clutch combo from the original motor, mounted to a half inch plate bolted to the trany bell housing with pillow block bearings to support a stub shaft bolted to the flywheel, and use a love or similar coupling to mate it to the motor. Will belt drive the hydraulic pump off the motor shaft, also. This is all due to the inavailability of parts to overhaul the original motor, as well as a water pump and other stuff. Cost of the new motor was seventeen hundred, so I think the cost is fairly reasonable, as the unit has been reposing by the "shed" for numerous years. Will be used for "choring" and mainly used on the post pounder as it is easy to get on and off, and manouver around, since I modified the steering system. If you wanna tell me I'm nuts for doing this, feel free .......just one of the many dumb things in my portfollio. Have a good one, R. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
