I've got a 4720 with MotionMatch and LoadMatch. Can anyone explain to me what these are and what they do? And how to use them?

Motion match changes the reaction of the hydro so that the wheels are less likely to slide if you lift your foot off the hydro pedal too quickly. Load match works when pushing down on the pedal. It will prevent the engine from bogging down too much if you push too hard on the pedal when the switch is turned on. This is oversimplified explanation, but that's the jest of it.

To expand on what jd110 said:

I have a 4310 with load match and motion match, so it should be the same, I'm assuming you have e-hydro also if you have those options.

Motion match allows you to control how fast the tractor reacts to your foots input on the hydro pedals, it's the button on the fender with the arrows under the tractor, the short arrow position is for quick (shorter distance) starts and stops, good for working in tight areas (I leave mine here most of the time), push the bottom of the button for slower starts and longer stops (good for going down the road)

Load match is like slipping the clutch on a standard, it prevents the engine from stalling if you over-lug it by stepping on the hydro pedal fully, while overloading the tractor, either by pulling something to heavy or to fast or trying to push to big a load ( I keep mine on all the time) it's the button on the dash under the directional light switch, push the top of the button to engage.

I'd also like to add that all ehydros come standard with motion match. There is, however, an optional switch and the difference is that without the switch, there is only 1 setting available (which you can program) compared to 2 settings with the installed switch. The two settings available with the switch are called short rollout and long rollout (Shrt_d and Long_d respectively). Both short and long settings are set at the default setting of 5 from the factory so flipping the switch will do nothing if you don't program them differently. On the short side, you'll want to set it between 1-5 and on the long side, you'll want it between 5-9. To put it into perspective, the lower number settings will result in abrupt starts/stops based upon the ehydro pedal position while the higher numbers will give you a more gradual or softer start/stops. Know that setting it at the lowest position will probably result in skidding type stops akin to slamming on the brakes if you're traveling fast and abruptly release the pedal; setting it to the highest setting will probably result in using the brake pedal more frequently and the sluggish starts/stops will be frustrating if you want better control in small spaces. Let's just say that if you mow lawns, you probably want to use the long rollout setting to prevent tearing up the turf and for low speed, precise loader or crowded settings, use the short rollout setting to maintain maximum control.

If you don't know how to program the settings, just ask and someone will point you in the right direction.

As for load match, just turn it on and forget about it. It's there and helps prevent stalling the engine during heavy load usage, can't think of a reason offhand why you'd not want to use it.

Tractor drifting, getting the wheels spinning quicker on a slippery surface!!
But seriously tell me how to program the motion match, I don't think I've heard about that before, my tractor was built in 04 if that makes a difference. Maybe My dealer set it to some medium setting, there's definitely a difference when the switch is changed.

Then you are probably OK and it was programmed correctly. My tractor is not a 4x20 but rather a 3x20 however, my suspicions is that they program the same.

Electrical Tests and Adjustments:
Editing the Motion Match Settings - eHydro
You'll be using the display mode switch (A) which has a symbol that looks like a dashboard and (B) the LCD display and (C) the left/right turn signal switch.

1. Verify that the display has been configured to recognize the motion match switch as being installed. (shouldn't be an issue for you so we'll bypass this step).
2. Turn the key switch to ON position.
3. Make sure that no error codes are displayed. If any errors are displayed, momentarily activate the display mode switch (A) to acknowledge the error.
4. Press and hold the display mode switch (A) until "rELEAS" is displayed in the LCD (B).
5. The last edited command will display, either Coast or Load.
6. If Coast is not displayed, use left or right turn signals to select the Coast command.
7. Momentarily activate the display mode switch (A) to edit the roll out settings.
8. Activate the left or right turn signals (C) to increase or decrease the roll out settings.
9. When the desired setting is displayed, momentarily activate the display mode switch to store the setting.
10. Select the desired settings between 6 through 9 and momentarily activate the Display Mode Switch. Where 6 being the shortest of the long roullout, and 9 being the longest of the long rollout and 5 being the default. The value of 5 is displayed as "Long_d".
11. Select the desired settings between 1 through 4 and momentarily activate the Display Mode Switch to finish the setting. Where 1 being the shortest of the short rollout, and 4 being the longest of the short rollout and 5 being the default. Value of 5 is displayed as 'Shrt_d".
12. The LCD (B) will change to the word busy for about 1 second and then change to the normal mode.

Obviously, I don't guarantee nothin so remember to conduct this surgery on your own brave accord.
Good luck on your tractor doughnut endeavors.

As some have said, you want to keep the load match on. I think the only reason to have an on/off switch is to see the difference with it off.

Load match is made possible by having an e-hydro system. You can think of it as an automatic RPM control system that quickly compensates for us dumb operators. When meeting resistance like pushing into a pile of gravel or snow with the FEL, we tend to push the peddle to the floor. Of course that just calls for a higher gear ratio (not more throttle) and we are heading for an engine stall. The load match senses the drop in RPM, overrides our peddle to the floor and actually backs off to a lower gear ratio to keep the RPM up.

You can test this by going up a good grade say in B range at say 2,000 RPM with the peddle part way down. Then floor it, the RPM starts to drop but then recovers as the speed (gear ratio) cuts back a little.
I always leave load match on and have never stalled the engine.
