Luckily my Road is just to the left of where I was sitting to take the picture so I was able to make it home. Just after I took this picture a crazy guy I know drove his 04 Dodge dually through that mess towards me. The water was halfway up the grill but he did it. Did I mention he was Crazy??? /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Probably about 15 years ago or so, there was a very large hillside face that slid away due to the same issues that you show in that hillside picture you posted.

Water under the hillside caused it to "slough" off; buried entire houses and roads and I think ruined many people's water supply.
