DieselCrawler, Gordon, CarlNH etc., you guys just need a 50 cal machine gun mounted and you could compete with a Sherman Tank.:D Nice work.

I extended the top edge of my bucket 12" after dropping gravel and stones on the hood, once. Also grab hooks and a slip hook on the bucket.
Put a LED carnival light on top of the cab for safety. See and be seen.
The quick hitch is a huge bonus.
Mine came with mirrors and now I am going to extend the brackets 3" to get it so I don't smack the mirrors out of adjustment every time I walk by it.

50 cal would be overkill. The Glock or Walther holstered on my hip takes care of any varmints I come across. Brush hog is effective once in a while too, ask the snake I chunked up last fall!

That's an addition I have pondered a couple times .......... a polymer holster like the Blackhawk Serpa or Fobus mounted on the machine where it's handy but mostly hidden. Not that it is needed ...... just a nice teddy bear thing.

At the risk of a thread hijack...

SARG: I use a Fobus or Blackhawk Serpa holster on my hip, the theory being that what if I encounter something while off the tractor? Get off to trim a fallen tree back, am 20 yards from the tractor, and a target shows itself at that point. Most of my issues have been raccoons and opossum in the trash or animal food as I walk to/into the barn.

I encourage you to keep it on your person, but will agree that on the tractor is closer than back at the house.

My go-to is a little Walther P22, it's showing the signs of holster wear, but functions just fine. I'm most accurate with it, and due to how much a 9mm can go thru, (having shot coons inside the barn) the .22 is a nice compromise.

I added a switch to bypass the seat safety switch. There are times you need to stand up off of the seat to see the bucket or the forks on the loader. I just turn the switch off to do this, then turn it back on. You need the seat switch on most of the time, I think it is one of the most important safety items.

I like that one king. Great minor addition. I don't have safety seat switches because the tractor is to old but I often wondered how people dealt with them. With your method you maintain the safety but can eliminate the annoyance at the flip of a switch.

Yup .... the switch idea is one I'll have to look at. Got a drawer full of toggle switches without a home so why not ........ but I will wait for warmer weather.

I just posted this on a thread about a hyd. toplink, but I added rear (scv) controls, I can not reach the factory levers from the ground and have to climb up on the tractor. (it's those 3 levers with old socket's for handles)

My most favorite customizations to my tractor (in no particular order) ... Halogen worklights-one pointed front and one back, 3 point trailer mover type drawbar with 3/8" hook welded on to get the ends of logs off the ground when skidding from factory drawbar.

Handi-Hitch manufactures these in 20" and 26" widths, ready-to-go.
