not sure if this is the right place to post this but i have alot of moss growing on one side of my garage roof..i removed the tree that was shading that side but the moss still grows..any ideas on how to kill the moss ?

There are some chemical treatments that will kill it off but it may come back and need additional treatments in the future. The other solution is to add some copper flashing near the ridge line of the roof. Rain water reacts with the flashing and the runoff will keep the moss away.

Steve I hadn't heard of using zinc before. I have seen copper used a number of times and guess it is the same principal. With the cost of copper zinc may well be a less expensive alternative.

thanks for the info guys...i'll be heading to lowe's or home depot in a few days...a friend told me to spray the moss with roundup...wonder if that would work..the round up might have a bad effect on the shingles though
