Looking 3320
Hello all,
I have a JD 3320 and it is a great little machine but just curious if there is a way to pump up the power a bit for the front forks. I am moving around some granite steps, 1500-2000 pounds, 1500 goes fine but over that is not-a-so good. Any ideas or is it just what it is?
Thanks as always!!!!

First check your hydraulic pressure, is it at factory setting?
If not most can be increased, generally using shims.
Many hydraulic valves have a pressure relief control built in the valve itself, generally a loaded spring affair that again uses shims or a spring adjuster screw and lock nut/cap arrangement.

Be careful however as heavier FEL loads creates a more 'tippy' tractor.
Always travel with the load as low as possible, and slowly.

Hi Piloon,

I have a JD300CX loader.... how would you "shim" it to increase pressure? Guess my question really is: What is a shim and what does it do?

Thanks

The 3320 does not use shims. First you need to have a hydraulic guage to see where you are at. This is not something that should be taken up without know what you are doing to the pressure. It should be at 2500. Some people have taken it slightly higher.

The screw and jam nut are under the seat. I would recomend you read the service manual while you do it....

Good advice. You NEED a gauge to check the pressure. Playing with the PRV (pressure relief valve) without a gauge can be a very costly mistake.
