Hi folks,
It was -38 on my thermometer this morning at 5 am. So I am typing kinda slowly.
I wanted to clarify my choice of the B7500, because so many of you had commented that the b7800 was a better choice.
If I had only the one rig I would agree whole heartedly.
My main use of this machine is a lawnmower. I thought it would be good to be able to run some implements I own. But after some research that was proven to be unwise. So I opeted for a smaller tractor and some smaller implements.
Either tractor would work for me. I wanted the 2 speed pto for light tilling and cutting work. Also for running a generator or other stationary implement that requires little power but higher pto rpm's. I was also concerned about soil compaction and mowing my side hills.
My 2210 was very stable and quite low slung, the B7500 is higher but not as tall as the b7800. It is also 300 pounds lighter than the B7800 so it was the better choice for me.
Both have cruise control and PS/HSD. The B7500 comes with a better tire choice for me. And the dealer has insisted that the B7500 will have all the HP I need to run the 54in MMM in tall wet grass. Plus he says he will trade with me fairly if I am not 100%happy. I trust him on this, I do not recommend that as a solution but it works for me.
For anyone who NEEDS the more powerful loader or the Higher HP of the B7800 and can stand the added weight it is a very impressive tractor and well worth the extra cash. I am very impressed with both tractors and the BX series too. Kubota is making terrific products.
A final note on this trade. I was not at all dissatisfied with either theb4700 or the 2210. Both are well made and hard working rigs. But the 4700 was not strong enough for my application and the M6800 is head and shoulders ahead of the JD5320 and $2600 cheaper to boot. The 2210 was just a handy trade for my Kubota dealer, and very equitable for me. Basically I am justpaying the difference and getting a brand new tractor. So I ran the 2210 for a year for free, Handy.
This is a great board. I enjoy reading everyones thoughts and I appreciate the help. I hope some of what I have said can be of assistance to a new buyer.
The M6800 is not a compact buy I hope you'll let me post pics and thoughts of it as I learn about it. I'll try to get some photos of both new tractors working as soon as I can.
Have a happy Kubota Day! Or Deere or Both!
Note the following is my opinion and that is all:
Now, I will pay more for my B7500($14,700 for tractor/302FEL/54in MMM/ Woods 4ft med duty hog/ Ice chains/)than many of you and more than the posted B-Series Cost-good-great price page says. I am comfortable with that. If we keep driving the dealers down to invoice or less we are going to wind up getting the same level of service as we get from the Auto dealers. Find a good dealer det a good deal.
