I’ve been meaning to do this for years but I’m going to finally break down and do it.

I want to make a list of things to inspect and take care of on a monthly basis, regardless of season. (Thanks for your responses on the "getting ready for winter" thread).

I was going to put on my calendar for the first day of the month and try to finish by/on the first weekend of the month.

Does anyone have a list of things to do or check on a scheduled basis?

Since some of you haven’t been to my place, it may be hard to do my list but if you don’t mind, I’d like to borrow from yours.

Here’s what I had come up with (so far) for monthly.
Charge all batteries (not on cars, but most everything else)
Check/fill water conditioner salt.
Check propane level (grill tank in summer, heater tank in winter)
Check around house/buildings for visitors (insects, mice, moles, snakes…) and handle accordingly.
Do a full walkthrough of all infrequently used areas (basement areas, storage and outbuildings) checking for anything wrong.
Check fluid levels in all machines, including cars.
Check/clean all exterior grates, drain pipes…
Visually inspect all tires for inflation. (too many to put a gauge on all but will if it looks low).

Every 2 months
Start and run generators

bczoom,
How about your fences? Around here the deer tend to mess them up a lot.
Don't forget the AC filters also.
Check the GFCIs and AFCIs.
Check the Smoke detectors.
Check the flash lights.
That's about all the extras I can come up with for now. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Andy.
Will do (but can't schedule to the first of the month).

Marine1,
Don't have any fences but will add the other items to the list.

Take the wife out for a nice evening, such as dinner and a show.

That will help insure that you get to have all the tools/toys that you need to do all the other monthly projects! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Good point Garry,

With 2 little kids, that's been falling by the wayside a bit.

Spent most of my time right next door at MCAS New River.
We can discuss more through PM if you want.
