I went and looked at a 6530 today it is a tractor and not an over sized lawn mower. I will be plowing with a 3/16 mounted plow, I had the dealer scale the tractor and with the FEL it weighs 8260# so I don't think there will be a problem pulling that plow. Now I need to find a way to get it 345 miles to my place.

That better not have a problem with pulling a 3-16 plow. Of course my question still is why pull the plow at all?

At that weight, I'm betting it doesn't have fluid filled rears....with an FEL, you are gonna need fluid in the rears...will also be much better for plowing...fluid will add about 1K or so lbs. I hope it has R1's on it....BobG in VA

I pull 3x14 plow with 40hp, 2WD and a somewhere around 7800lbs, 57 year old, normally aspirated, worn-out tractor. I would think the extra snort of a much newer, modern turbo-diesel engine (65hp) and extra weight, plus MFWD (Is it 4WD?) should pull 3x16 no problem.

Yes, it is 4WD

yep the 6530 will be a good match i think. even with the rears unloaded.

I bet you would be happy with that combo... keep us posted

I have a 5530 Turbo 4wd and I pull 3x16's @ 8" deep. No weights except a 266ML loader with the bucket for plowing. My plow is Ford/Dearborn 10-209 with coulters. A 6530 should have no problems with 3 16's.

You won't any problems at all. My 4WD 6520 with only a backhoe subframe for rear weights worked real well.

Idaho2, On the 6530 with the wheel stance my math showed that I would be over lapping a little and cutting 44" with each pass. It looks like this is no problem from your pictures. How good does the draft control work for you with the mounted plow?

RMOMN,

Draft control holds nicely at 8". Just be careful when lifting the 3pt that you do not accidentally move the draft control handle. Regarding your measurements on the rears, I get 48" plow width. Getting a 3pt plow setup takes time and if I plow this spring I will tweak it a little so that it follows the tractor straighter then what you see in the pics. I've attached a few photos of mine.
