I want to increase my firewood carrying capacity. If this is doable, I won't have to buy another set of forks for the 3 point hitch. Does anyone have an idea on the best way to add pins and a top link to this unit? I have an excellent mobile welding service so I don't have to transport it to a shop.

My guess would be to make up a subframe/adapter that pins to the 4 bucket attachment points.
It would have correct class 1 spacing between the lower links and a center mount for the top link at the correct height. Advantage is that you remove the subframe when you pin it back on the FEL, so no extra weight/lost lift capacity.
Bust out the hot glue and cardboard and see if you can knock a quick (& cheap) model together for your fabricator to work from.

We sacrificed the 3 point hitch assembly off an old scraper blade, and welded it on. Works great.

The carrier came off an old MF industrial fork lift.

Here's what I was thinking of ...
3pt Adapter.jpg
Pin it to the forks when you want to use it on the 3pt & remove it to use forks on your FEL.
... dang, just realized I forgot to sketch in the lower pins .... they would be attached to ears
on the front of the vertical tubes.

May not exactly fit your needs but might want to think of a way to be able to back up to the forks and pick them up and go, kind of like a quick hitch. Sure is nice to be able to back up to your forks, pick them up and go without ever getting off your seat. :cool:

Here is what I did, mine are obviously custom made;
