I've heard people talk about the compatibility between the MMM and backhoe. Can you use both? What I heard was the brackets for the MMM got in the way of the subframe. Is this true, can the brackets be removed, or is there any other way around it. I've been leaning towards the MMM, but would also want a backhoe at some point.

From what I understand, you may use both without interference. The MMM locks up in position when you use the backhoe if I remember right, or you only remove the deck, but the dealer members can tell you for sure. John

There may be a compatibility issue if your backhoe uses a mounting system that stays attached to the tractor when the backhoe is removed. In the case of my New Holland a MMM would not be feasible with my backhoe.

I don't see a problem using a MMM and a backhoe that uses a 3-point mount system.

No you can not run the (full frame) subframe backhoe and mid mount mowers on the Kioties together.

I was referring to the CK20HST. I'm aware that I would need to remove the deck so the subframe for the backhoe could be attached, but I guess the question is would the mounting brackets for the deck interfere with either the mounting brackets for the subframe or the subframe itself.

Thanks for all of the replies and info...

Do the mounting bracket for the MMM get in the way of the subframe also? I don't mind removing the deck when I have to use the backhoe...

yes the brackets are in the way..... Its one or the other...
I guess this is one of those cases where you are not allowed to have cake and ice cream at the same time.

You can not run/b] the ... subframe backhoe and mid mount mowers on the Kioties together. does that mean you can not put both on and use one at a time, or that you can not put both on period? I think Virgil is saying you can't put both on the tractor, but I'm still not sure as everyone is saying it's one or the other as though maybe only one at a time. Sorry, it's just not clear to me. Thanks, John

If you have a mid mount mower frame on your tractor.
You will not be able to put a backhoe on this machine.
If you have the brackets to mount a backhoe on your machine.
You will not be able to run a mid mount mower.
It is one or the other.
Not one or the other if one is not on the machine. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Thanks Wallace. I sort of figured that's what you and Virgil meant, and my dealer confirmed with me yesterday that you can't have both. One could, however, use the backhoe to get all the things done that were necessary, remove the subframe and reinstall the MMM frame and deck, but it would be a pain to do, but not nearly impossible. I know a lot of people post that their backhoes are sitting in the storage most of the time, so the MMM go go on at those times. John

OK since I'm new to this maybe somebody will smack me on the head so it make sense....

Can I or can I not remove the subframe so I can run the MMM.... I'll only need the BH once in a while and I don't have an issue with having to remove the subframe to leave the mower on.. My wife has sort of demanded the MMM or she won't mow the 6 acre lawn!

We are looking at tractors and here in Ontario Canada.. the Kiota with BH and Loader is about 24K, a new deere is over 35K and a kubota not that far behind... So just for the bang for my buck the kioti has me... My concern is parts and warranty and the dealer says that Kioti has been working to fix these issues...

i think the brackets would get in the way with the subframe even if the mower is taken off, although im not 100% cus i've never tried it before. Kioti doesn't have a problem with parts or warranty as far as i can see. There parts department has went out of there way many times to help me, and warranty department has always been very helpfull. You might want to send an email off to customer service and ask them if that combo will work. They will know for sure.

I just re-read your post and i think i get what you are asking now. Yes when you take the BH off the subframe for the backhoe comes off too. But the BH subframe will get in the way of the brackets on the MMM. Im sure you could use both but you may end up with alot of work having to take the brackets for the MMM off when you want to use the BH. You would be best to use a Rear Finish Mower if you want the BH.

She not feel comfortable with a FRM? I have had many guys in your spot, but once they got their wife on the tractor with a RFM they ended up getting one. Just takes a bit of getting use to, but once you do they are really nice & cheaper!

To quote my wife" if I'm not happy you going to give me my money back" She's a tough cookie (probably why I married her)... She has several years using a deere with the MMM so it's kinda like having had silk and being told canvas is what you can have....

I'm not sure, but I think that would be a real PIA! Removing the subframe brackets on my CK20 wouldn't be that big a deal, because the hook brackets attach to the front rear of the loader and are not hard to remove. But I think the MMM brackets are more complicated. If you don't need the backhoe that often, I'd rent one. You were planning on having a loader right? You almost have to have one with the backhoe.
