- Kioti DK 40 HST
Been enjoying the DK40 but had a problem last night. As I was working on the drive I looked down and noticed the MLS valve knob had come off and was lying by my feet. Also lying there was a gold colored nut. Nut threads right onto the MLS shaft and silver knob threads as well. When I tried to lower the 3 pt rather than the threaded shaft turning the knob simply unscrewed again. Wrapped the threaded shaft in a rag and lowered 3 pt by turning with a vise grip. Now rod turns easily by hand but once the knob is back on it simply screws off as I again try to turn the knob to "full hare".
Anybody else have this issue. New Kioti and I do not want to mess it up after 3 days of ownership.
I'm thinking simple fix is a bit of Locktite on the thread and than replace knob. See any problem with that?
Also, I assume the nut came off the shaft of the MLS but never noticed the nut before. I cannot see any other thread missing a nut.
Thanks.
BTW: Lastly, I am used to shifting range in the CK HST where i depressed the clutch to shift. On the DK HST seems like I just simply shift range as there is no clutch pedal. However manual states to depress brake AND fwd/reverse pedals to shift ? Maybe something lost in translation?
